Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2026

By using Artemis Intelligence ("Artemis", "we", "our"), you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. What Artemis is — and is not

Artemis is an investment research and analysis tool. We provide informational content including company quality scores, valuation tier classifications, intrinsic value estimates, and written commentary based on publicly available financial data.

Scores, tiers and estimates come from Artemis's own rules. Written commentary, summaries and sector picks are produced automatically by Artemis's software with AI models. Like any automated analysis, they can contain mistakes: check the filings before you act.

Artemis is NOT investment advice. We are not a registered investment advisor, broker-dealer, or financial planner. We do not have a fiduciary relationship with you. Nothing shown on Artemis should be construed as a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security. All investment decisions are yours alone, made at your own risk, and you are solely responsible for the outcomes.

Past performance shown in Track Record or other features does not guarantee future results. Stock prices fluctuate, companies fail, and you can lose money. Consult a licensed financial advisor before making investment decisions.

2. Autopilot

Autopilot trades a practice portfolio: $1,000,000 of paper money that isn't real, invested in the stocks on your Portfolio, and in a few of Artemis's picks, by Artemis's rules, so you can see how the rules do before any real money is involved. It places no orders with any broker. Practice trades are recorded at each trading day's closing prices (the first ones at the prices when you start), in whole and part shares, without fees, taxes or dividends. It is measured against the same $1,000,000 put into the S&P 500 (SPY) on the same day, also without dividends. The results are hypothetical: real orders can fill at other prices, and past results don't promise future ones.

The rules decide what Autopilot buys and sells, and when. Among other things, they can sell a stock you take off Portfolio or whose rating falls, cut a stock that falls well below its high, hold more cash while the market trends down, move the stocks toward Artemis's target weights each week, and add a stock Artemis rates Strong Buy from your Watchlist or Artemis's sector picks. Being on a list never buys a stock by itself. Artemis rates the stocks again each week, and your stocks' ratings go into your Record. Artemis may change the rules as it improves them.

You can pause it or reset it at any time; a reset deletes the practice portfolio and its history.

Real money. With a broker connected that takes orders through its API, you can let Autopilot trade an amount you choose in that broker account, on the same rules. You type the amount and confirm it with a second tap; Artemis then places real orders in your account while the market is open. Started or added before the open, after the close or overnight, whole shares can be bought at once with limit orders, and the rest goes in at the next open. You can add more of the account's cash at any time; added money isn't counted as gain. A whole-share buy never pays more than 3% above the price Artemis planned with. A broker's paper (practice) account works the same way; its holdings and trades stay out of your Portfolio.

  • Only your amount. Autopilot trades only the amount you set (and what you add) and the shares its own orders bought. It never sells shares you hold apart from it, never borrows (margin) and never spends more cash than your account shows.
  • You stay in charge. You can buy and sell in Artemis or in your broker's app at any time. If you sell shares of a stock Autopilot holds, it counts what's left and stops adding to that stock until you include it again.
  • Settlement. Autopilot never sells shares before the money they were bought with has settled, so a cash account gets no good faith violation (and a margin account no day trade). A stock waiting shows “Settles” and the day.
  • Your stocks stay yours. When Autopilot sells all of a stock on your Portfolio, it stays on Portfolio without shares, so Autopilot can buy it back when its rating allows. Its own picks leave Portfolio when they're sold.
  • Pause or stop. Pause stops new orders. Stop ends Autopilot's trading and cancels a limit order still waiting (until the broker confirms the cancel, Stop asks you to try again in a minute); its shares stay in your account as yours, and its record stays: a new Start carries it on.
  • Every order is shown. Each order, its fill price and fees, or why the broker refused it.

Market orders fill at the market's price, which can differ from the price shown when the order was planned; a limit order fills only at its limit or better, and may not fill; your broker's fees apply. Prices, ratings and your broker's service can be late, wrong or unavailable, and real orders can lose money. You are responsible for your account and for what is traded in it. Autopilot is not investment advice (section 1).

3. Options

With a broker connected that takes option orders through its API, you can let Artemis sell put options and buy call options in that broker account with an amount of its cash you choose. You choose which (selling puts, buying calls or both), type the amount and confirm it with a second tap, and can add more of the account's cash later the same way. Artemis then sells puts and buys calls on stocks it chooses by its own rules, may buy a put back or sell a call before it expires, and sells shares that a put assigns to you or a call's exercise buys for you. Artemis may change the rules as it improves them.

  • Paid in cash. Each put is backed by all the cash it could need (its strike price times 100 shares a contract), set aside from your amount; each call is paid in full from your amount, and the most it could cost is set aside while its order waits. Artemis never sells a put that cash can't back, never borrows (margin) and never sells a call it doesn't hold.
  • What a put is. Selling a put pays you a premium now and obliges you to buy 100 shares a contract at the strike price if the buyer exercises it, at expiry or earlier. If the stock falls below the strike, you lose the strike price less the stock's price, less the premium: in the worst case, a stock that goes to zero, nearly all the cash set aside.
  • What a call is. Buying a call costs its price now and gives you the right to buy 100 shares a contract at the strike price until it expires. If the stock is at or under the strike at expiry, the call expires worthless and everything it cost is lost, as often happens.
  • Assigned and exercised shares. Shares a put assigns to you, or a call's exercise buys for you, are sold at the market's price in the next regular session, which can be lower or higher than the price at expiry. A call still worth something on its last day is sold that afternoon when it can be; if it isn't, your broker may exercise it (which takes the cash for its shares) or close it under its own rules.
  • Your broker's rules. Your broker must approve your account for options (buying calls can need a higher options level than selling cash-secured puts), and its options agreement, its fees and the Characteristics and Risks of Standardized Options it gives you apply. Your broker can refuse an order, and can close, exercise or assign options under its own rules.
  • Only your amount. Artemis uses only the amount you set and what you add, and never sells shares you hold apart from those its puts assigned or its calls' exercise bought. You can trade the rest of your account as you like.
  • Pause or stop. Pause stops new trades; puts and calls already open are followed to their end. Stop cancels the orders still waiting (until the broker confirms the cancel, Stop asks you to try again in a minute); puts and calls already open stay in your account as yours, and Artemis no longer follows them.
  • Every order is shown. Each order, its fill price and fees, or why the broker refused it.

Option prices Artemis reads are delayed and can be late or wrong; a limit order fills only at its limit or better, and may not fill. The chances shown are the odds an option's own price implies, not a prediction. Options can lose money quickly, and past results don't promise future ones. You are responsible for your account and for what is traded in it. Options are not investment advice (section 1).
